Full Set of Accounts
for Non-Accountants
Read, prepare and understand a complete set of accounts — from journals to financial statements — without a finance degree. Two days, blended delivery, and fully HRD Corp claimable.
Stop taking the numbers on faith
Plenty of capable business people can run a company but can't read its accounts. They sign off on figures they don't fully follow, discover problems only when the auditor calls, and struggle to tell a healthy month from a dangerous one.
This course closes that gap. Over two days you'll build a full set of accounts from scratch — source documents to journals, ledgers to trial balance, and on to the financial statements — so you understand where every number comes from and what it's telling you about the business.
What your team will be able to do
- Explain the accounting equation and how double-entry actually works.
- Record transactions correctly through journals and post them to the ledgers.
- Extract a trial balance — and know what to do when it doesn't balance.
- Make the month-end adjustments: accruals, prepayments, depreciation and provisions.
- Prepare a statement of profit or loss and a statement of financial position.
- Read a set of accounts critically and spot the figures that don't look right.
- Work confidently with your bookkeeper, accountant and auditor — and ask better questions.
