How to Apply for a
Claimable Course Grant
A step-by-step walkthrough for submitting an HRD Corp Claimable Courses (SBL-Khas) grant application in eTRiS — from login to submission — updated for the 2026 rules.
What you'll need
Grant applications for HRD Corp Claimable Courses are submitted through your employer eTRiS account. Have these ready before you begin:
- Invoice or quotation from the training provider.
- Trainer profile.
- Training schedule.
- Course content or brochure.
Older grant helpers say "apply at least one day before training". That's no longer correct. Under Employer Circular 2/2026 (effective 15 June 2026), your grant must be approved at least 14 days before training starts, and training must begin 14–90 days after approval. Submit well ahead.
Applying, step by step
Open a new grant application
Log in to eTRiS, then go to Application › Grant › Apply Grant › Apply.
Choose the scheme
Select the scheme code HRD Corp Claimable Courses: Skim Bantuan Latihan Khas (SBL-Khas), then Apply.
Pick your officer and provider
Select your immediate officer, then choose the registered training provider.
Select the programme
Choose the training programme and explain its background and objective, why the participants need it, and the relevant HRD Corp Focus Area (or "Not Applicable" for employer-specific courses). For micro-credential programmes, add the MC acknowledgement letter, MicroCredential and MiCAS application number.
Set the course title and type of training
Match the actual delivery — Public / In-House, Remote Online Training, E-learning or Hybrid — then enter the training location and level of certification.
Add trainee details
Create a batch, then add each participant's details. Add more as needed and save.
Key in the costs
Enter course/trainer fees, allowances and consumable materials — all within the HRD Corp Allowable Cost Matrix. Set any upfront payment to the provider between 1% and 30%.
Declare, attach and submit
Complete the declaration, attach your documents (invoice/quotation, trainer profile, schedule, course content), then Save and Submit Application.
Wait for evaluation
A grant officer reviews it and status updates appear on your dashboard, email and eTRiS inbox. If they raise a query, you now get one query and must respond within 5 calendar days, or the application expires.

What you can claim
Your estimated cost is made up of course or external trainer fees, allowances, and consumable training materials — all subject to the HRD Corp Allowable Cost Matrix.
A registered training provider may request an upfront payment of up to 30% of the approved course fee — but only with your consent as the employer.
Altomate prepares and submits your grant applications correctly the first time — the right scheme, compliant costs, complete documents and the 2026 timing — so nothing gets queried into expiry or rejected.
