Why it matters

Knowing the tools isn't the same as using them where it counts

Plenty of teams have now tried AI. Someone drafts an email with it, someone else summarises a document, and everyone agrees it's clever — then Monday comes and the pipeline, the campaign calendar and the month-end reports look exactly as they did before.

The gain shows up when AI is built into the work a function repeats every week: how sales researches and follows up, how marketing gets from brief to published, how operations handles the documentation and data nobody enjoys. This course does that, function by function, using your own real work as the material.

Outcomes

What your team will be able to do

  • Identify the repeating tasks in each function where AI genuinely pays back — and the ones where it doesn't.
  • Use AI across the sales cycle: prospect research, qualification, outreach drafts, call notes and follow-ups.
  • Speed up marketing from brief to published: content drafts, campaign variants, social, and repurposing.
  • Cut operational drag: SOPs, reports, meeting notes, data cleanup and routine admin.
  • Keep AI output on-brand and factually correct before anything reaches a customer.
  • Build a shared prompt library and simple, repeatable workflows the whole team can use.
  • Set sensible ground rules for confidential data, accuracy and disclosure.
Curriculum

What's covered

1

AI in a business context

A fast, practical foundation: what AI is reliably good at, where it fails, and how to spot the tasks in your own workflow worth handing over.

2

AI for sales

Prospect and account research, qualifying leads, drafting personalised outreach and follow-ups, turning call notes into CRM records and next actions, and assembling proposals faster.

3

AI for marketing

From brief to draft: campaign and website copy, social posts, email sequences, repurposing one asset across channels, and generating variants to test — all kept in your brand voice.

4

AI for operations

Writing and maintaining SOPs, summarising meetings into decisions and actions, drafting reports, cleaning and structuring data, and handling routine admin and correspondence.

5

Making it repeatable

Turning what works into a shared prompt library and templates, chaining steps into a simple workflow, and deciding where light automation earns its keep.

6

Governance & responsible use

Verifying output before it ships, protecting confidential and customer data, staying on the right side of your PDPA obligations, brand and tone control, when to disclose AI use, and writing a workable team policy.

Who it's for

Who should attend

  • Sales teams and business development staff.
  • Marketing teams — especially lean ones doing everything themselves.
  • Operations, admin and customer-service staff.
  • Business owners and managers deciding how AI fits into the company. Best attended by a real team, working on your actual pipeline and campaigns.
Bring your real work

This isn't a demo course. Come with genuine prospects, a live campaign and a real process, and you'll leave with drafts, templates and workflows you can use the same week.

Where it fits

The applied half of our AI training

We run two AI courses, and they do different jobs:

  • AI Tools to Boost Workplace Productivity — the beginner foundation. General AI skills for everyday individual tasks: prompting, email, summaries, research. Start there if AI is new to your team.
  • This course — the applied, department-level step. AI built into the sales, marketing and operations workflows your team repeats every week.

It also complements Digital Marketing for SMEs, which covers channel strategy and campaign measurement across Meta, Google and email. This course is about using AI to produce that work faster — not a replacement for the marketing strategy itself.

Frequently Asked Questions

The productivity course is the beginner foundation — general AI skills for everyday individual tasks like email, summaries and research. This one is applied and department-level: AI built into the sales, marketing and operations workflows your team repeats every week. If AI is new to your people, start with the foundation course.
It helps but isn't essential — the first module gives a fast practical foundation. It's pitched at intermediate because the focus is applying AI to real business workflows rather than learning the basics from scratch.
It's deliberately tool-agnostic. Rather than teach one product's menus — which change constantly — it teaches transferable workflows using the leading general assistants as examples, so what you learn survives the next release.
A full module covers it: verifying output before it ships, what should never be pasted into a public AI tool, your PDPA obligations around customer data, and how to write a workable team policy.
Yes — it can be funded from your levy under the HRD Corp Claimable Courses (SBL-Khas) scheme. We handle the grant application; apply so approval lands at least 14 days before the training date.
